He graduated from the University of Washington in the spring of 2008 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in sociology, and received his Master’s degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership (M.Ed.) from the University of Washington in 2009, while also playing baseball professionally for one year. He played for the Chatham A’s in the summer of 2006 in which the team is featured in the motion picture, “Summer Catch.” It is the top collegiate summer league in the country that consists of many players every year drafted into Major League Baseball. Elliott finished the summer with a 1.62 ERA, which was fifth in the league.

He was one of 30 finalists for the “Stopper of the Year” award in 2006, which is given to the best relief pitcher in the country.

Elliott received dean’s list honors twice, and was awarded with the 2008 Gertrude Peoples Scholarship Award for dedication to academic success, while also receiving 101 Club Scholar Athlete for baseball in the same year. He was honored by the Sociology Department as a “Featured Student,” along with six other students during the 2007-2008 academic year.

Prior to his time spent at the University of Washington, Elliott played for Columbia Basin College from 2003 to 2005 where he was an All-Eastern Region selection.
